Why did you start your clothing line?
We started King of Queens Klothing because we wanted to create a new standard that can both be timeless and impact people in a positive, productive way.
How do you want your brand to be perceived by your consumers?
We want our brand to be perceived as a way of life. Its not just clothes, but a character and value standard that you live and breathe.
Who are some of the people you look up to in life?
First and foremost, we honor our mothers and fathers as the foundation of who we are. Outside of family, there are many many people who we pull from as models, such the likes of a Steve Jobs, Kanye West, and Dame Dash, and then you have powerful visionaries like Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Madam C.J Walker and a long list of others.
Where do you see your line in 5 years?
In 5 years I see us with a large scale of production and multiple storefronts, emerging as a force on the mainstream fashion level. Our long term goal is to be in the ranks of a Ralph Lauren and not get stuck in just an urban apparel box.
If you had one million in cash, what would be the 1st thing you would do?
I would expand the scope of our production where we can create jobs for families who may not have certain opportunities for work as others. We come from unfortunate circumstances in urban communities, so we understand the struggle.
What separates your line from other lines in your city?
We stand apart because of our service standard and our mission. We pride ourselves in a superior product and a high level of service. We don’t do things just to do things, everything has a purpose. More important, we use our brand as a platform for community work and benefit.
Explain the meaning of King of Queens?
Our Krown seal speaks to the meaning of King of Queens, “Birthed by Queens, Protected by Kings.” Its about us all having royalty in us and upholding those standards.
Enough with the hard line of questions, let’s play a game.
1. Day or night?
2. Big booty or big busted?
3. Rich or famous?
4. City or the Country?
5. Scarface or Friday?
Thank you for taking the time to talk to us and we look forward to seeing your brand grow. Stay blessed.
